Rectangular tube is a hollow long strip of steel, also known as flat tube, flat square tube or square flat tube (as the name implies). When the bending resistance and torsional strength are the same, the weight is lighter, so it is widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering structures.

In order to better improve the surface strength and wear resistance of the rectangular tube, surface heat treatment is carried out on the rectangular tube, such as flame surface, high frequency induction quenching, organic chemical heat treatment, etc. Generally speaking, the most common heat treatment is high frequency quenching, and the heating temperature is 850-950 °C. Because of poor heat transfer, the heating rate should not be too fast, otherwise defects such as melting cracks and heat treatment cracks will occur. Induction quenching stipulates that the substrate is ferrite-dominated after quenching, and spray paint water or spray paint acrylic emulsion aqueous solution is used for refrigeration; grinding performance.

In addition, the heat treatment of rectangular tubes has the following three advantages:

1. Dimensional stability for a high-precision rectangular tube, the required precision is high, so the dimensional stability must be maintained. Due to the straightening in the air, the cooling speed is slow, so it has a stabilizing effect and will increase the residual tissue in the tissue. The number of rectangular tubes, so cold treatment must be carried out;

2. Reduce quenching deformation. Due to the slenderness of the rectangular tube, it is easy to deform during the quenching process. In order to strictly control its deformation, heat treatment is a very critical process. In the process of quenching and cooling, use cold plasticity for timely correction, which is a key step to ensure the improvement of its pass rate. For this reason, hot bath quenching or oil quenching should be performed; after cooling for a certain period of time, it is recommended to perform thermal correction. At the same time, hanging heating should be carried out during the heating process to reduce quenching deformation. For high-precision guide rails, gas nitriding or plasma nitriding should be performed to reduce deformation.

3. The high hardness rectangular tube mainly bears the contact fatigue load, so it must have high hardness. Therefore, heat treatment, induction hardening or organic chemical heat treatment should be carried out, followed by ultra-low temperature tempering treatment.
