Production Process of Stainless Steel Pipe

Seamless stainless steel pipes are mainly used in heat exchange pipes, fluid pipes, pressure pipes, mechanical structure pipes, urban landscape pipes and other industries, with an annual consumption of about 700,000 tons. With the increase in demand, the requirements of the industry are also getting higher and higher, which promotes the maturity of the industry's production process. The seamless processing of stainless steel pipes is mainly completed by tension reduction, which is a continuous rolling process of hollow base metal without mandrels. The welded pipe tension reduction process is to heat the entire welded pipe to more than 950 degrees Celsius on the premise of ensuring the welding quality of the parent pipe, and then reduce the tension to roll stainless steel pipes of various thicknesses. The stainless steel tube manufactured by this process has high dimensional accuracy and is relatively convenient to use. However, the seamless process manufacturing cost of stainless steel pipe is high, but it has been widely used abroad and gradually popularized in China.

Stainless steel pipes are still seen more in industrial production now. Now the weather is getting hotter and hotter. Many stainless steel pipes work at high temperatures. It is also a good test for the heat resistance of stainless steel pipes. Strong heat resistance means that it can still maintain excellent performance at high temperatures. In austenitic stainless steels, carbon is often regarded as a detrimental element, mainly because under certain conditions (such as welding or heating at 450~850°C) in the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, carbon can form with chromium in the steel. The high-chromium Cr23C6-type carbon compound leads to the depletion of local chromium, which reduces the corrosion resistance of the steel, especially the intergranular corrosion resistance.

Stainless steel welded pipe is the most used equipment in life now, but there will be certain defects in the process of processing and welding. These defects will lead to stress concentration, reduce the bearing capacity, shorten the service life, and even cause brittle fracture. This will affect the quality of the finished product. We must analyze the cause as soon as possible and choose an effective method to prevent it. The sag at the end of the weld of the stainless steel pipe is called an arc crater. The arc crater not only seriously weakens the strength of the weld, but also produces arc crater cracks due to the concentration of impurities. Causes: The main reason is that the arc-extinguishing dwell time is too short; the current is too large during thin plate welding. Preventive measures: When the arc welding of the electrode arc ends, the electrode should stay at the molten pool for a while or make a circular run, and then lead to one side to extinguish the arc after the molten pool metal is filled; The dwell time will decay and extinguish the arc after filling the weld.
