ERW steel pipe, also known as straight seam high frequency resistance welded pipe, is used to transport oil, natural gas and other vapor and liquid objects, which can meet various requirements of high and low pressure, and occupies a pivotal position in the field of transport pipes in the world. So what are the requirements and advantages of ERW steel pipes during transportation?

Shipping requirements for ERW steel pipes

1. Requirements before ERW steel pipe transportation: Generally speaking, the diameter of ERW steel pipe is greater than one meter. Usually, straight seam steel pipes with branch openings of 1420mm or larger need to be listed.

2. Requirements during the transportation of ERW steel pipes: if there are threaded buckles at both ends, they should be protected by thread protectors. Apply lubricating oil or rust inhibitor to the thread. Both ends of the steel pipe are broken, and pipe protectors can be added at both ends according to requirements. If the customer requires that the ERW steel pipe should not have bumps and other damage on the surface, it can be considered to use a protection device between the steel pipes. The protective device can use rubber, grass rope, fiber cloth, plastic, pipe cap, etc.

3. Due to the thick wall and thin wall, the measures of inner support or outer frame protection can be adopted. The material of the bracket and the outer frame adopts the same steel material as the ERW steel pipe. If the purchaser has special requirements for the packaging materials and packaging methods of steel pipes, it should be specified in the contract; if not specified, the packaging materials and packaging methods shall be selected by the supplier.

4. Low transportation cost: ERW steel pipe has the lowest transportation cost, which is 1/10 of railway and 1/2 of waterway.

5. Construction safety: ERW steel pipe is simple in construction and has a short construction period. It is laid underground, which is relatively safe and reliable, and is not restricted by terrain.
